Greetings, on behalf of the dynamic members of the Lake Oconee Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. As the fifth Chapter President, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our website! Our chapter was chartered on April 23, 2007, by 22 women who recognized the need to bring initiated sorors together to serve the rural (GA) counties of Morgan, Greene, and Taliaferro. Since that time, LOADST has become the home of many members (currently, more than 70). What remains constant among the chapter members is we believe in our Sorority’s rich heritage of Sisterhood, Scholarship, Service, and Social Action. We honor the legacy of our 22 Founders, who were college-educated women dedicated to serving the people in their communities. This continues today among over 300,000 members within more than 1,000 chapters.

 

The members of LOADST are advocates for change and community empowerment. We understand the importance of collaboration and partnership with individuals and organizations that align with our Sorority’s Mission. As a service organization, we plan strategically, engage with the community, and work as a Sisterhood to provide quality programs, give college scholarships, and resources to fully engage and meet the needs of our service area's diverse and growing population.
